Madurai meenakshi –parvathi temple

Madurai  meenakshi –parvathi temple in Madurai, centuries old. It is believed that the marriage of Shiva and parvati took place here. Meenakshi Amman Temple is a historic Hindu temple located on the southern bank of the Vaigai Riverin Madurai,  Tamil Nadu, India. It is dedicated to Parvati, known as Meenakshi, and her consort, Shiva, here named Sundareswarar.
