THE THEME

Introducing the dishes served
at major religious and spiritual places of worship in India.

List of century old TEMPES,
CHURCHES, MOSQUES, which have influenced the Prasad or naivedyam, influenced
the festivals of that state and the reasons for the particular food served
there.

Influences of FOREIGN INVADERS
like the British, Portuguese, Dutch, MOGHULS, Greek, Turks, and many others who
first traded and then looted, left their imprint on food ,spices and
methodology of cooking.

The medicinal, spiritual,
Physical and mental value of the Offerings cooked.

The importance of festival food
and meaning behind some major dishes cooked.

Each holy place/district has a
special cuisine, known as "Prasad" associated with it.
·
This cuisine is identified,
documented, and prepared.
·
We gather first-hand knowledge
by participating in the preparation of the foods, interviews and observations
and we supply recipes from each experience.

Our emphasis is on taste - that
/ food is regarded as the best in India because it is prepared with devotion, purity and affection.

A comprehensive list of the
chosen places , which basically has to be very old, with a strong story/
myth/truth attached to it for
e.g Nanak Jeera gurudwara at Bidar or
Lord Guruvaurappan temple at Guruvaur Kerala or Nagur mosque at Nagipattanam S
India.

Prasad served there with significance.

We start the sojourn by
dividing the country geographically into four states. NORTH, SOUTH, EAST AND
WEST.

Start with the south and progress west, north and
east.

A total of 170 dishes from each
division will be presented. the best of it and the holy place it represents.
Offerings
to the gods –cookbook
·
A cook book will be released
compiling all these facts and the recipes
of the most famous dishes
·
The cook book will be in a
series of four books, each covering one geographical territory.
·
Famous places of worship of
that area –a few of it will be featured, the rest mentioned and the Prasad
famous in that place.
·
